South Indian Red chilli chutney

This Red chilli chutney is often eaten with idli and dosa, but you can use it according to your choice.

Ingredients:

  • Onion  – 1
  • Tomato – 1
  • Red chilli whole – 7 to 8
  • Salt – as per taste
  • Oil – 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds (jeera) – 1/3 teaspoon
  • Mustard seeds – 1/3 teaspoon
  • Curry leaves – 4 to 5
  • Hing (Asofetida powder) – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Method:

1. Cut onion and put it in the grinder

Cut Onion2. Add chopped tomatoes into it.

Chopped Tomato3. Now add whole red chilli into it.

Red Chilli4. Add salt as per taste and grind it into thin paste.

Salt & Red Chilli5. Now take oil in a small pan/kadai

Pan6. Add cumin seeds, after cumin seeds splatter, add mustard seeds, curry leaves and hing in the pan.

7. Add this tadka in the chutney mixture to enhance the taste if the chutney.

 8. The chutney is ready to serve.
